Scott's Post Office Hotel Havelock

Scott's Post Office Hotel Havelock

Outside the Scott's Post Office Hotel in Lucknow Street. Peace Day celebrations on the 19th July 1919. Crowd present and it stocked Speight's Beer as noted on their window signage! However the owner who gave his name to this prominent hotel - Thomas Henry Scott passed away at the age of 57 on the 18th April 1905. It was reported in the Marlborough Express Newspaper from the Havelock Correspondent in his obituary that he had died from an affection (spelt as shown!) of the heart. And is buried in the Havelock Cemetery.
